Similar to downhill snow skiing, mountain bike skills learned correctly early in the sport can greatly enhance enjoyment and safety. Instructor is Level One PMBIA Certified. Very small group size ensures you get what you need from this program!
Starting with the basics, you will learn how your bike works, body positioning for balance and how to maintain control at various speeds and with braking. You will not only learn skills, but work on them until they are mastered, so you'll truly enjoy your time riding your mountain bike! Once these skills are comfortable, additional lessons are covered, and may include (depending on participant preferences and skill) navigating obstacles, choosing a line, wheel lifts, managing drops and cornering.
Additional practice and group rides (at no cost to members!) are offered at Anne Springs Close Greenway on a regular basis, so you can continue to enjoy the outdoors and a really fun sport!
What you will need the following for this program:
- Mountain bike in good condition
- Bike helmet
- Water bottle or hydration backpack
- Closed-toe sturdy shoes
- You will also need to provide an accurate email address and cell phone number so that we may contact you with more information the week before your course.
