Fifth Annual Summer Concert Series Returns to the Anne Springs Close Greenway

Spend your summer evenings at the Anne Springs Close Greenway as the Greenway Summer Concert Series returns for its fifth year, featuring 14 concerts scheduled every Thursday June through August. The series gives visitors a chance to enjoy a relaxing evening outdoors with friends and family and listen to some of the region’s most popular bands.

The series centers in the Comporium Amphitheater, a popular Greenway venue that features lawn-style seating and a shaded tree canopy. Gates open at 6 p.m. with music beginning at 6:30 p.m. This summer’s lineup includes Next Level (June 1- Member Appreciation Concert), Time Sawyer (June 8), Mike Frost Band (June 15), Doug Burns Band (June 22), Matt Stratford Trio (June 29), Patrick Dodd Trio (July 6), West Bolz & the One Trick Ponies (July 13), Party Parrot Band (July 20), J’Michael Peeples (July 27), Mr. Nigel & Friends (August 3- Back to School Bash), Triple Play (August 10), HC Oakes Duo (August 17), Joe “Elvis” Borelli & Band (August 24) and Flashback, the Party Band (August 31.)

“The Greenway Summer Concert Series has grown exponentially since it began five years ago,” said Greenway operations director Buddy Faile. “Averaging 500 attendees, the weekly concerts provide the perfect backdrop for families and friends to enjoy good music in a beautiful natural setting.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnics to the Amphitheater for their enjoyment. The concerts are free for Greenway members and $5 per person for non-members. Special event parking is $5 per car with seasonal special event parking passes available for purchase, $30 and $45 for members and non-members respectively.

To kick off the summer, the Greenway will host its Member Appreciation Concert on June 1, featuring the music of Next Level and food from New Wrap Order, Red Oak Catering, Killer Q, Kona Ice, the Donut Guy and Popcorn Heaven. Members who attend the concert with their membership card will be able to spin for prizes such as koozies, bandanas, hats and guest passes. All Greenway members who attend will be entered into a drawing to win one of four top prizes, including a weekend of camping at the Greenway and a tent/camp chair prize pack donated by REI.

Concerts take place at the Comporium Amphitheater, 291 Dairy Barn Lane, Fort Mill. Beer, wine and sodas will be available for purchase. No glass or outside alcohol allowed. Food trucks will be on site for each concert and will vary by date. Well-behaved dogs on six-foot leashes are welcome to attend.
