Trail Status

Nestled amid beautiful lakes and hardwood forests, the Anne Springs Close Greenway's a nature preserve more than twice the size of Central Park. Minutes south of Charlotte in Fort Mill, SC, its 2,100 acres serve as a natural buffer from urban development and provides a wide-open space for countless activities.

Get Close to Nature

There are countless ways to enjoy nature at the Greenway! Hike, run or bike our 40 miles of trails. Kayak, paddle board or fish in one of our lakes and ponds. Ride a horse, or try some yoga with a goat.

Featured Event

Anne Springs Close's 100th Birthday Hike

Join us as we honor the legacy of Anne Springs Close—our founder and visionary—on what would have been her 100th birthday. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the Anne Springs Close Greenway, and we invite you to celebrate with a day of remembrance, community and the beauty of the outdoors. Enjoy one of two guided hikes led by the Greenway’s Hiking Club. Afterwards, gather on the Forest Porch for casual remarks, a special tree dedication and a sweet treat as we celebrate Ms. Close’s enduring legacy and the Greenway’s 30 years of connecting people to nature.

A key component of the celebration is the Greenway’s 100 Trees for 100 Years campaign, aiming to plant 100 mature native trees across the 2,100-acre Greenway, continuing Ms. Close's lifelong mission to protect natural spaces for generations to come.
