About

Anne Springs Close Greenwayâ„  is a 2,100 acre natural preserve in Fort Mill, SC

An urban oasis, the Anne Springs Close Greenway is a 2,100-acre nature reserve located minutes south of Charlotte in Fort Mill, SC. At more than twice the size of Central Park, the Greenway serves as a natural buffer from rapidly encroaching development and provides a wide-open space for countless activities – from hiking, biking and horseback riding to picnics, kayaking and more. Nestled amid beautiful lakes and hardwood forests, the land has historical ties to the Catawba Nation and the Revolutionary and Civil War and has been permanently preserved for public use.

Today, the Greenway represents the legacy of Anne Springs Close and her lifelong commitment to recreation and the environment and her desire to provide an undisturbed natural landscape for the community to enjoy. The Greenway contains a diverse variety of native plants and animals, historic buildings, a 40-mile trail network, welcome center, and unique venue spaces for weddings and special events. As part of a private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Anne Springs Close Greenway depends on memberships, program fees, as well as private donations to support annual operations. Anne Springs Close Greenway is a part of Leroy Springs & Company (LSC), a non-profit founded in 1938, committed to providing access to recreation and education throughout York, Lancaster and Chester counties. LSC's mission has endured for more than 80 years, with a vision that all people should benefit from affordable, quality outdoor recreation, education and wellness opportunities in their community.
