John Gordon - Executive Director
A native of Clover, SC and graduate of Winthrop University with a degree in History and Philosophy, John J. Gordon has spent his professional years immersed in a variety of recreation minded organizations. John’s organizational expertise is driven by more than 15 years of operational and leadership experience at some of the area’s most respected recreation facilities including the U.S. National Whitewater Center and YMCA Camps Cherokee and Thunderbird.

Since joining the Anne Springs Close Greenway as Executive Director in 2017, John has helped shepherd the organization through exponential growth in membership and visitors to the property, as well as operational improvements and continued development of Greenway summer camps, special events and other recreation programs. His focus for the organization is in continued achievement of its mission – to connect all people to nature through conservation, education and recreation. John lives in Fort Mill with his wife, Ally, and two young children, Aila and Lee.
Lindsey Arnautovic - Operations Director
As the Greenway’s Operations Director, Lindsey oversees the direction and operation of Greenway programs from recreation to education and everything in between as well as the FLYERS Afterschool program and Afterschool on the Greenway program. Formerly the FLYERS Afterschool Director, Lindsey been with the Greenway since 2014 and oversaw the development of the Greenway’s nature-based preschool. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and family/childhood studies and has experience in small business ownership.
When she isn’t supporting the Greenway’s amazing staff, she can be found with her husband and two daughters enjoying time on the lake, visiting the Mary Warner Mack Dog Park and exploring the trails of the Greenway.
Samantha Kowert -Advancement Director
Samantha comes to the Greenway with over ten years of experience in cultural and environmental non-profits, focusing on institutional advancement and strategic planning. She received her bachelor’s in Arts Management and Business Administration from the College of Charleston and obtained her MBA at The Citadel. Samantha connects donors, volunteers, members and the community-at-large with the transformative work of the Greenway, cultivating support for our mission and vision. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and participant of the Charlotte Alliance Young Professionals group. When Samantha isn’t advancing the efforts of the Greenway, she is spending time outside and at local sporting and arts events with her husband and new daughter. She is honored to be part of the Greenway family and looks forward to seeing what the future holds.
Elizabeth Bowers - Communication Director
Elizabeth is the Greenway’s public information officer and brings over ten years of integrated marketing communications experience for a diverse set of small businesses, corporations & non-profit organizations to the Greenway. She works to ensure strong community relations and engagement through effective marketing & communications strategy across Leroy Springs & Co. entities including the Anne Springs Close Greenway, Springs Golf Courses and Springmaid Mountain.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Elizabeth received her bachelor’s in Corporate Communications from College of Charleston. She is a member of the Fort Mill Economic Partners Board of Directors, York County Regional Chamber of Commerce – Fort Mill/Tega Cay Area Council and Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Charlotte. As recent resident of Fort Mill, she and her husband love hiking and exploring the Greenway with their two boys as well as taking in all the Town of Fort Mill has to offer.
John Morris - Equestrian Manager
John brings over 15 years of equestrian and livestock management to the Greenway Stables. He oversees and manages all aspects of equestrian programs including equestrian camps and the Exceptional Equestrian therapeutic riding program in partnership with Rock Hill Parks and Recreation and the Fort Mill School District. John holds certification from the Professional Association of Therapeutic International (PATH) and is a member of the South Carolina Horsemen’s Council, the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. A native of Fort Mill, John enjoys being outdoors, riding horses and playing golf.
Josh Patterson - Resource Director
A native to Fort Mill, Josh Patterson has been with the Greenway since 2002 and has a bachelor’s degree in Science (Forestry), a minor in Parks and Recreation from Clemson University, and is a certified Master Naturalist and South Carolina Master Beekeeper. As the Greenway’s Resource Director, Josh oversees the Natural Resource department and Facility and Maintenance department. Josh is responsible for protecting and managing all resources on the Anne Springs Close Greenway, including natural resources, buildings and all related systems, shelters, grounds and common areas, the trail system and the Greenway vehicle and motorized equipment fleet. He is also responsible for ecosystem management including conservation, protection and use.
Katie Gupton - Venue Sales Manager
Katie joined the Greenway’s Venues team in 2020 bringing a personal history of time spent on the Greenway. A native of the Philadelphia area, she spent summers and holidays visiting family in the Fort Mill/Tega Cay areas and served as a counselor at one of the Greenway’s first summer camps. In her role as Venue Sales Manager, Katie interacts with a diverse clientele and oversees the rental of our six venue spaces and the Oak Room at Fort Mill Golf for a wide variety of events including corporate gatherings, social events, weddings and more. Katie is a member of the Southern Foodways Alliance and a graduate of NC State. When she isn’t managing events, Katie loves to spend time with her friends, family and three dogs and being around water…especially the beach!

Sara Lee - Recreation Directdor
Sara brings a history of environmental education and outdoor recreation to the Greenway. In her role as Recreation Director, she develops and oversees the implementation of various recreation programs including summer camps, races, signature events and more. Sara came to the Greenway and Fort Mill by way of South Africa, the UK and Connecticut, earning her bachelor’s in Natural Resource Management and a master’s in Communications. She is a member of the American Camp Association and the American Canoe Association. She has experience working with birds of prey and is currently apprenticing to become a Falconer. When not on the Greenway, Sara can be found spending time with family and friends, traveling, gardening, reading or playing volleyball.
Natalie Senglaub - Greenway Camps Director
Natalie joined the Greenway as the Jr. Adventure Seekers Coordinator and a teacher at the Greenway’s nature-based preschool before flexing her skills as the Greenway Camps Director. As Camp Director, she oversees the Adventure Seekers Camp Series as well as Winter and Spring Break camps and the Kids’ Night Out program. She loves working with campers and getting to see them experience new adventures, make new friends, and make memories to last a lifetime! Natalie is a member of the American Camp Association, USA Archery and Delta Mu Delta. She brings diverse experiences with her having worked in customer service with a major container shipping company, as an interpretive park ranger at Badlands National Park and as an environmental educator with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. She received a BS in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences from Penn State and is finishing her International MBA in Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University. When she isn’t hanging out in the woods, Natalie can be found playing the piano or taking hikes and exploring national parks with husband and dog.
Mina McLean MacDonald - Signature Events & Volunteer Coordinator
Mina’s work as Signature Events & Volunteer Coordinator engages the wider community in a number of ways on the Greenway. From the Earth Day Celebration to the Summer Concert Series, she implements programming focused on sharing the Greenway’s mission with members and visitors alike. As Volunteer Coordinator, Mina brings people together to benefit and support on-going Greenway initiatives such as the Betsy McLean Plant-A-Row (PAR) for the Hungry Garden, Adopt-A-Highway trash collection program, and special events. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Recreation Management and Outdoor Experiential Education, a graduate of the National Parks & Recreation Association’s Event Management School and a Certified Festival and Event Associate with the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA). In her free time, Mina enjoys hiking with her husband and son.
Stephanie Waggy - Guest Services Manager
Stephanie manages the friendly faces welcoming you to the Greenway at the Welcome Stations and in the Greenway Gateway. She and her team manage memberships and other operations surrounding Guest services including general information and point of sales for the Greenway Gateway retail section. Stephanie obtained her degree in Field Biology and has a variety of experience as a Park Ranger and in other environmental and guest services positions. She is a member of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and enjoys spending time in the sunshine, collecting bugs and sharing random fun facts with her family and friends!
Paige Peteresen - Administrative Coordinator
Paige is one of the cheerful voices you hear when you call the Greenway’s Guest Services number. She’s been a fixture at the Greenway Stables for a number of years, first as a rider and later as an instructor and Camp Coordinator, and she joined the Guest Services team in 2020. Paige provides administrative assistance for both Greenway Stables and Greenway Guest Services and enjoys working with our members and guests. A Fort Mill native, Paige is a graduate of York Technical College and an animal lover. When she isn’t riding her horse, Rain, she’s visiting her cows near the Dairy Barn or playing with her dogs and cats. She also enjoys spending time on with family and friends and being on the lake.

Brian Myers - Advancement Manager A Native of Orchard Park, NY (Go Bills!), Brian brings over 15 years of non-profit experience with him to the Greenway. He works with individual and corporate donors to leave a lasting impact on the Greenway for generations to come. With his bachelor’s in Business Communications and master’s in Organization Leadership, Brian has worked with a number of non-profits advancing their mission and financial stability. In his free time, he works with Team 24/7 Lacrosse, Loaves and Fishes and East Austin Sandlot Baseball. He also enjoys fly-fishing, mountain biking and flying recreational aircraft.
Pam Gordon - Community Engagement Coordinator
A recent transplant from St. Louis, Pam holds a bachelor’s in Political Science and Public Administration, a master’s in Public Administration and a certificate in Nonprofit Management. She has enjoyed a long professional career in volunteer management, community relations, special event fundraising and grant writing. As a member of the Greenway’s Advancement team, Pam’s role as Community Engagement Coordinator expands the relationships with the Greenway’s Friends, partners and affinity groups to support the mission. Working closely with corporate and community entities, she plans on-site service days, participates in community events that raise awareness about the Greenway and works with groups wishing to support the Greenway through service or peer-to-peer fundraising. Pam also partners with Greenway departments to identify and prepare grant proposals that will ultimately fund some of the Greenway’s greatest needs. Pam is a member of the Metrolina Association of Volunteer Administrators and the Gaston Evening Rotary Club. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, learning more about her new state and enticing her family and friends in the Midwest to come visit the beautiful Carolinas!
Catherine Stovcsik - Integrated Marketing Specialist
Catherine brings over 20 years of non-profit experience to the Greenway having previously served in number of roles for both health and education organizations. As the Integrated Marketing Specialist, she manages the Greenway’s social media platforms and website in addition to meeting the marketing needs of the Greenway’s various departments. A small-town girl from Indiana, Catherine earned her degree in English and Telecommunications from Ball State University where she was involved in number of student and community volunteer organizations. When she is not creating engaging posts for Facebook or Instagram, you can find her and her husband on the soccer pitch with their son or watching their daughter on stage at a dance competition. She also loves to travel, cook good food and spend time with family and friends.
Cory Chase - Assistant Equestrian Manager
Cory is a Fort Mill native who apprenticed as a Farrier with a training barn in Monroe, NC before coming to the Greenway Stables.  He has been with the Greenway for 15 years assisting with everything horse and barn related. You’ll find Cory baling hay, mending fences, assisting with all equestrian programing, maintain the health of the Greenway’s horses, working with horse borders, maintaining all barn and equestrian equipment and so much more. When he isn’t working with the horses, he enjoys a good trail ride or spending time in the water whether it be a lake or pool!
Becca Cohler - Trail Technician
Becca joined the Anne Springs Close Greenway in 2019 as part of the Natural Resources team and is responsible for trail maintenance. You will often find her on the property deberming, lopping and chain sawing on the trails to ensure they are safe for Greenway visitors. She is also the “go-to gal” for informational videos about everything from Greenway hidden gems to why we the trails when it rains. A native of Chicago and graduate of Illinois State University, when Becca isn’t on the trails she can be found looking for turtles, traveling, running, doing puzzles or at an Umphrey’s McGee concert.
Brian Lee Cranford - Maintenance Foreman
Brian Lee has been with the Greenway for five years helping keep the Greenway beautiful and maintained. As Maintenance Foreman, he oversees a crew charged with managing and maintaining the Greenways 2,100 acres and facilities. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering. In his free time, Brian Lee enjoys creating and listening to music, spending time outdoors, painting miniatures and playing tabletop and board games. Brian’s motto is to always do justly, love mercifully and walk humbly with the Lord with everyone he meets.

A native of Portugal, you can find Chris in the kitchen creating amazing, healthy dishes for guests of the Gateway Canteen and Fresh Eats Catering. When he isn’t cooking “righteous food”, you can find him restoring cars and racing R/C cars.
Dave Piontek - Gateway Canteen Manager & Beverage Director
Dave joins the Gateway Canteen with over 11 years in food and beverage management, managing high volume sports bars and breweries. He currently manages the Gateway Canteen and coordinates bar packages for events being held on the Greenway. A former professional touring musician, he left that life upon the birth of his daughter and joined the team at Fresh Eats Catering to manage the operations of the Gateway Canteen. In his free time, Dave enjoys playing music building PC’s and dabbling in furniture making. He is a die-hard Atlanta Braves and LA Rams fan and hopes to start brewing his own beer in the future.
