Mission & Vision

Preserving a place for people to celebrate and experience nature for generations to come.

Who We Are

Anne Springs Close Greenway opened to the public in 1995 and was the vision of local conservationist Anne Springs Close. The 2,100 acres that make up the Greenway were placed under a conservation easement with the Nation Ford Land Trust to protect the Steele Creek watershed. The land is protected in perpetuity and will never be developed beyond low-impact recreation.

Anne Springs Close Greenway is a brand of Leroy Springs & Company, founded in 1938. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Leroy Springs & Co. is committed to providing fundamental access to recreation and education in the region home to the historic Springs Cotton Mills. We are a family of brands rooted in nonprofit recreation, with a legacy lasting more than 80 years and a long-held belief that all people should benefit from affordable outdoor recreation, education and wellness opportunities.

Our Mission

Connect people to nature through recreational and educational activities while fostering a passion for environmental conservation, animal habitat, and protection of natural resources.

Our Vision

Preserve a place for people to celebrate and experience nature for generations to come.

Traditionally, our facilities have been located in the communities in which Springs Mills originally established their production facilities in South Carolina - Chester Township, Fort Mill Township, and Lancaster County.

We believe that by focusing our efforts on recreation, education and environmental stewardship, we can enrich the lives of our youth and contribute to the community we are proud to call home.

Our operations are possible only through the generous cooperation of our local school districts and municipal and county governments, as well as partnerships with local businesses and citizens. Our most precious resource is the time provided by the volunteers that assist our operations in so many different ways.

Financial assistance is available to ensure that our facilities and services are available to all of our neighbors. Click here for more information.

Due to inclement weather the Mountain Bike Skills Park is temporarily closed. Hike, Bike, Horse, and Dog Park trails are currently open. There is a foot bridge out on Blue Star near H13 that will be repaired this week.

Please show caution while on the trails, we are still working on clearing trees and blowing off leaves and debris.
