Fort Mill, SC, March 24, 2021 – The Anne Springs Close Greenway will celebrate its fifth annual “Love the Greenway Month” awareness and fundraising campaign during the month of April. The nature preserve will culminate its 25th anniversary year with programs and events spread throughout the month to encourage members and visitors alike to get out and explore new areas of the 2,100-acre recreational park. Celebrate the month with fun, new ways to Choose Your Own Adventure on the Greenway with self-guided activities such as the UnsynligO orienteering app, as well as on-site demonstrations, animal encounters, guided hikes, fishing and other programs planned for the month. Take the Get Your Selfie Outside® Challenge and pledge to spend more outside time than in this month, all while raising funds in support of the Greenway’s $25 for 25 Years Campaign and encouraging your family and friends to join in.

The Greenway’s annual Earth Day Celebration returns April 16-18 as a full weekend of opportunities to get outside and explore the Anne Springs Close Greenway through various programs and activities including fishing, canoeing, reptile encounters, lead-line horse rides and other festivities. Earth Day weekend is free for members and visitor fees are waived for non-members ($5 per car for non-members). Come see what makes the Anne Springs Close Greenway a celebrated community resource, providing a space for people to recreate and celebrate nature in a myriad of ways.

“In the last year we learned that in times of great anxiety and uncertainty, our community looked for a safe space outdoors to find respite, and they found it in the beautiful landscape of the Greenway. We celebrate April is Love the Greenway Month with a renewed appreciation for the land and that it will remain a sanctuary for members and guests for generations to come.”

Support the $25 for 25 Campaign

Make a $25 donation to celebrate 25 years of the Greenway and help us reach our new goal of $100,000 by Earth Day. In the final weeks of the anniversary campaign, we are challenging our community to Get Your Selfie Outside®, while also raising important funds to support Greenway operations. Take the Get Your Selfie Outside® Challenge and see how much time you can spend outside this April. Make plans to spend more time OUTSIDE than IN by setting up your own giving page and sharing updates of your progress using #GYSOChallenge2021.
