The Anne Springs Close Greenway℠ and Piedmont Medical Center have announced a new phase in their growing community partnership, with the regional healthcare provider becoming the non-profit nature preserve’s exclusive healthcare partner.

The enhanced partnership includes a $180,000 gift from Piedmont Medical Center, securing a three-year commitment that supports the mission of the Greenway to connect people to nature through conservation, education and recreation. The contribution will help fund ongoing programming, trail maintenance and initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles throughout the region.

“We are grateful to our neighbors at Piedmont Medical Center for their leadership in making this remarkable financial commitment,” said Elizabeth Bowers, Director of Advancement & Communications for Leroy Springs & Company, the parent nonprofit of the Anne Springs Close Greenway. “This generous gift not only helps advance the Greenway’s mission but also underscores the power of community partnerships in preserving and enhancing the quality of life in our region.”

As exclusive healthcare partner, Piedmont Medical Center will have the opportunity to engage with Greenway members and visitors through the Greenway’s signature events, educational programming and other outreach efforts that align with both organizations’ focus on health and community well-being.

About Anne Springs Close Greenway

Nestled amid beautiful lakes and hardwood forests, the Anne Springs Close Greenway is a natural preserve more than twice the size of Central Park. Minutes south of Charlotte in Fort Mill, SC, its 2,100 acres serve as a natural buffer from urban development and provide a wide-open space for countless activities – from hiking, biking and horseback riding to picnics, kayaking and more. The land has ties to the Catawba Indians and the Civil War and has been permanently preserved for public use. The children of Anne Springs Close donated the land in honor of her lifelong commitment to recreation and the environment to provide a natural landscape for the community to enjoy. The Greenway contains native plants and animals, historic buildings, a 40-mile network of trails, Greenway Gateway welcome center and facilities for weddings and other special events. As a non-profit organization, it depends on memberships, program fees, as well as private donations to support annual operations. The Greenway is owned and operated by Leroy Springs & Company Inc., a 501(c)3 organization that receives no government funding for its ongoing operations and programs.
