Duke Energy Foundation Awards Anne Springs Close Greenway $25,000 Grant

Duke Energy Foundation awarded the Anne Springs Close Greenway a $25,000 grant to support watershed cleanup and marine debris removal initiatives. This grant directly supports the new “Litter Gitter” in Steele Creek on the Greenway’s land in Fort Mill, SC.

The Anne Springs Close Greenway partnered with the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation to install the Litter Gitter unit, which will capture litter before it reaches the larger portion of our watershed and further impacts wildlife and animal habitats. Anne Springs Close Greenway and its team of volunteers will manage the unit.
