Learn about decomposers while diving into the ecology of the forest floor. The class will discuss the role of decomposers and identify the different kingdoms and phyla that fall under this important role within the forest ecosystem. The remaining time will be spent searching the forest for fungal specimens with ecologist Andy Kane and others from his mushroom friend group.
