|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 7:00 am, repeating until April 21, 2024

The development of the Mountain Bike Skills Park at Anne Springs Close Greenway is a significant milestone, reflecting the commitment to creating a dynamic and inclusive experience for outdoor recreation. The Skills Park focuses on providing a safe and welcoming space for riders of all levels, emphasized by various features and trail options.

The Skills Park is in the final stages of construction and will be open for a preview weekend during the Earth Day Celebration April 20-21. Staff and volunteers will be onsite on Saturday, April 20 (1-4pm) providing tips and tricks, and riders are invited to practice their mountain biking skills throughout the weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 7am-sunset) before closing for remaining construction. The Skills Park is estimated to be open to the public by early May.

Collaboration with Community Trail Design and Black Diamond Trail Designs underscores the dedication to quality and thoughtful planning in creating a diverse range of trails and obstacles, including beginner, intermediate and advanced lines that include progressive drops, rock gardens and modular balance features.

The Anne Springs Close Greenway’s Colonel’s Club, a men’s philanthropic and social group, has been instrumental in spearheading fundraising efforts for the Mountain Bike Skills Park. The Colonel’s Club pledged to fundraise the $180,000 needed for the Skills Park through proceeds from their annual Boil & Brew, playing a crucial role in bringing the project to fruition.

Admission to the Greenway, including the Mountain Bike Skills Park,  is FREE* to the public for our Earth Day Celebration April 19-21. To support our conservation efforts, nonmembers pay a $5 parking fee per car.

Please note: Gear is not provided; bring your own bike and helmet (required).

As the Skills Park features newly cut trails, we must exercise caution to avoid overuse, particularly after rainfall. In the event of substantial rain, it will be necessary to close the park to preserve its integrity. Please check the Trail Status for the most up-to-date information on trail closures, including the Skills Park.
