Walk & Talk with The Nature Conservancy of SC

Mar 28 , 2019

Join Kristen Austin, Upstate Conservation Director, from The Nature Conservancy South Carolina Chapter, as she discusses the importance of natural resource management, including controlled burning, to keep lands and water healthy. We will hike an unpaved trail through the Greenway’s restored prairie area that houses some endangered schweinitz sunflower during this talk. The hike will be about an hour and a half (appx. 2 miles) and take us to one of the swinging bridges over Steele Creek, which is part of the Catawba watershed, where we will turn around and return. The morning group will eat lunch after the walk and the afternoon group will eat lunch and then go on the Walk and Talk. Representatives from TNC and the Greenway will be in attendance for lunch and available to discuss what all we do to protect and educate about our lands. Walk and Talk program including lunch is $20/person. Greenway entry is free for Greenway and TNC members  for this event and $5/person for nonmembers.
