Join us for one of our hikes!

Saturday, October 5 @ 8am - 40 Acre Rock Heritage Preserve 

Hike will be 4-5 miles and is rated moderate. Carpool will leave the Springfield House back parking area (Dairy Barn entrance, first right) at 8 am. John Ghent will show us the "rock", a couple of waterfalls, a cave and the beaver pond, maybe Crybaby Bridge. We’re going to meet at the Edward Jones office in Lancaster, 905 North Main St. Estimating we’ll leave there around 8:45 am. Then following him to 40 Acre Rock, should take about 30 minutes. Getting to 40 Acre Rock is tricky. If you prefer to meet at the preserve, the address for the last house on Conservancy Rd, about 100 yards from the trailhead, is 2207 Conservancy Rd, Kershaw, SC. Park in the area in front of the steel gate. We should start the hike by 9:30 am. There are no restroom facilities. We’ll plan to stop someplace in Lancaster. Depending upon timing and interest, may stop to eat on the way back to Fort Mill. 

Tuesday, October 8 @ 6:30 pm - Greenway led Fitness Hike

Meet at the Recreation Complex trail head.  Brisk pace at around 3 miles in about an hour. 

Thursday, October 10 @ 6 pm -  Greenway Gateway, Lake Haigler entrance, 2-3 miles

Saturday, October 12 @ 8am - Kings Mountain State Park

Meet at the Recreation Complex parking lot by the trail head for carpool.  Approx 16 mile hike, rated moderate to difficult.  Bring plenty of water and food. 

Sunday, October 13 @ 2pm – Greenway lead Fall Tree ID Hike

Meet at the Adventure Road entrance parking lot.  Will stop frequently along the way to identify a variety of trees using an illustrated tree ID guide.  Hike approx. 1 ½ hours. 

Monday, October 14 @ 6 pm, Adventure Road Entrance

Meet in first parking lot, 2 miles

Thursday, October 17 @ 6 pm - Greenway Gateway, Lake Haigler entrance, 2-3 miles

Tuesday, October 22 @ 6 pm, Dairy Barn parking lot, 2-3 miles 

Thursday, October 24 @ 6 pm, - Greenway Gateway, Lake Haigler entrance, 2-3 miles

Saturday, October 26 @ 8am – South Mountains State Park, NC. 

Meet at the Springfield House back parking lot, Dairy Barn entrance first right, for carpool.  Approx 6.5 miles, rated strenuous.  Will stop to eat in Lincolnton on the way back.
