The Anne Springs Close Greenway℠ Nature-Based Preschool fulfills the Greenway℠ mission to connect people with nature by developing a sense of wonder and appreciation for nature in our youngest community members.
Our half-day preschool program prepares your preschooler for kindergarten while positively impacting your child's emotional, mental, physical and social development.
The Anne Springs Close Greenway℠ Nature-Based Preschool follows North American Association for Environmental Education (NAEE) Guidelines for Excellence. Both indoor and outdoor experiences are incorporated into the day with a strong emphasis on outdoor exploration.
Decades of research shows that spending time in nature benefits children in the following ways:
- Improved fitness and motor skill
- Supports exploration, discovery and creativity
- Enhances critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Inspires collaboration
- Reduces stress, anger and aggression
- Creates feelings of empathy
- Supports whole-child development
What Our Parents Are Saying
My husband and I traveled the country to look for a community where we could settle with our child and provide her with a sense of community, access to nature and balanced quality of life. We stumbled upon the Anne Springs Close Greenway℠ by accident as we were looking to spend an afternoon near horse stables. Needless to say, we came, we saw and fell in love at first sight.
Further search led us to discover that they offered a preschool program. We were elated. We applied for a spot in the program immediately, before we even contacted a realtor and moved.
Not only is the Greenway℠ school located in the most magical place but it happened to be run by magical fairies. Greenway teachers are some of the most knowledgeable, compassionate and creative experts in early childhood education. Our child has flourished remarkably in every arena, from motor skills to literacy and social skills. There are simply no words for us to express our eternal gratitude to ASCGreenway teachers and staff.
Repeat preschool parent here! We LOVE LOVE LOVE the program. We are beyond thankful for everything they have done to help our budding littles blossom into their own beings during their preschool years. Nurturing their souls through outdoor play? Check! Being showered with love and guidance with the most amazing teachers? Check! Learning to explore and appreciate nature? Check! Last but certainly not least, spending hours stumbling on the most coolest things nature has to offer before coming home full of joy (and totally drained of energy)? Yes, yes and YES! We simply cannot vision a better preschool environment for our kids, and we most certainly would (and do) recommend them to all our family and friends.
The nature school at the Greenway℠ is the best kept secret here in Fort Mill. No other place allows for such an inspiring and natural form of learning. My daughter has been in the program for two years, and she has loved every second of it. She has grown to appreciate nature and has learned so much. The director and teachers are amazing and truly care for the children. I wholeheartedly trust them with my daughter, not with just physical safety but also emotional safety, and that is all I could ever ask.
I can’t say enough good things about this program, but more importantly, I am grateful beyond words for the people that make it what it is. They truly care about each and every child and have gone the extra mile time and again to help our daughter through some difficult behavioral challenges. Her first school experience would have been very different without them.
