Membership Rate Adjustment Effective March 1, 2024

Dear Greenway Members,

First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to you for your invaluable support as members of the Anne Springs Close Greenway. Your commitment plays a crucial role in sustaining the ongoing operations of the Greenway and furthering our mission to connect people to nature through recreational and educational activities. As a non-profit organization, we rely solely on the support of members, programs, and donors like you.

The Greenway continues to flourish as a dynamic and vibrant landscape, encompassing over 2,100 acres of preserved land. With over 40 miles of trails, a half dozen lakes and ponds, three miles of Steele Creek, and diverse ecosystems, the Greenway is a testament to the rich heritage of the land we are privileged to inhabit. The growth of the Greenway has been accompanied by the introduction of new programs, facilities, and opportunities for members to fully experience the unique offerings of this special property. Our dedicated staff takes pride in providing guests not only with a breathtaking natural landscape but also with some of the region’s premier signature events and recreation opportunities.

We are extremely excited about the new amenities we will be opening on the Greenway in 2024: the Crandall Bowles Children’s Farm, the Schroering Forest Playground, and a new mountain bike skills track at our Adventure Road entrance with funds raised by our very own Colonel’s Club. Hopefully, you will see we intend to first protect the natural resources that we have been entrusted with, and simultaneously add more value to your membership.

We trust that you are enjoying the myriad benefits of your Anne Springs Close Greenway membership, which include:

  • Access to all 40+ miles of trails and the new Greenway Gateway & Gateway Canteen
  • Member rates on recreation programs, signature events, summer camps, event venues, educational classes, and retail
  • Fishing privileges in stocked Greenway lakes & ponds
  • Member eligibility at the Mary Warner Mack Dog Park and Community Garden
  • Canoeing and kayaking access at Lake Haigler and Lake Crandall, as well as seasonal kayak rentals
  • Special rates at our sister property, Springmaid Mountain
  • Digital Membership Card

As we look ahead to 2024, we wish to inform you of a moderate increase in membership rates. Effective March 1, our new annual rates will be $72 per individual or $144 for a family membership. We encourage you to renew your annual membership prior to March 1 to lock-in current rates or explore our convenient monthly payment option available for sign-up on our website. Additionally, we understand the importance of accessibility and affordability, and thus offer financial assistance through the Anne Springs Close Bridge Program. For those interested in supporting our cause, becoming a Friend of the Greenway, or contributing to the program, more information is available here.

Your membership signifies a partnership in the stewardship of this remarkable resource, which we consider an extension of your own backyard. We encourage you to frequent the Greenway and relish its natural splendor.

See you on the Greenway,

John Gordon, Executive Director
