Elementary Field Trip Fair Offers Easy Planning and Collaboration at the Anne Springs Close Greenway
WHAT: The Education department at the Anne Springs Close Greenway hosts inaugural Elementary Teacher Field Trip Fair
WHO: More than 400 area elementary school teachers will interact with nearly two dozen regional organizations to discuss upcoming field trip opportunities
WHY: The Anne Springs Close Greenway is dedicated to engaging students of all ages in hands-on, interactive programming that gets them outdoors and close to nature. Nature provides the most amazing classroom and offers an opportunity for students to learn at their own pace, in their own ways, thus enhancing classroom instruction. The agencies that are participating in the Field Trip Fair collectively believe that students must be up close and involved in order to learn best. This fair offers teachers an opportunity to work with organizations who strive to create a love for learning in each and every student.
All area elementary school teachers are invited to come learn about potential field trips while enjoying a teacher-only social hour. Take a much-needed breather from the first full week of school and enjoy refreshments, while meeting with local organizations to learn about curriculum-based field trips.
Participating organizations include Anne Springs Close Greenway, Atomz Lab, A Walk in the Woods, Camp Thunderbird, Carolina Raptor Center, Charlotte Nature Museum, Comporium, Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, Discovery Place, Discovery Place Education Studio, Discovery Place Kids – Rockingham, Discovery Place Kids – Huntersville, Historic Brattonsville, James K Polk Historic Site, Kings Mountain National Military Park, Levine Museum of the New South, McDowell Nature Preserve, Museum of York County, NASCAR Hall of Fame, Rock Hill Parks and Recreation, Rosedale Plantation, SeaLife and Schiele Museum.
