Greenway Hosts 13th Year of Music, Brews & BBQ at the Fiddle n’ Pig Shindig on Sept. 8th
Full-Day Festival Expects to Draw More Than 2,000 Attendees
Back for the 13th year, the Anne Springs Close Greenway's annual barbeque and bluegrass festival, the Fiddle 'n Pig Shindig, brings together some of the Carolinas' best bluegrass and folk music talent and an array of regional barbeque purveyors and other food trucks for one full day of music, brews and 'cue. The festival starts at 11a.m. and lasts until 8p.m. on Saturday, September 8th. This year’s musical line-up includes River Ratz, Provence of Thieves, West End String Band, The Hinson Girls, and headlining act Chatham County Line. General admission tickets are on sale now and will be available at the starting at $10.
Returning this year is the Shindig Biergarten, giving brew aficionados a chance to sample a roundup of the region’s best craft beer featuring more than 40 unique tastings. The Shindig Biergarten will take place on Saturday afternoon from 3:00 until 6:00p.m. Advance pricing is $40 per person until September 7, or $50 the day of the event.

Back by popular demand this year is the exclusive V.I.Pig ticket. Limited to 100 passes, V.I.Pigs will receive entry to the festival and Biergarten, gain early access to the Biergarten an hour before public, a deluxe plate of BBQ with all the fixin’s from Red Oak BBQ, 2018 event t-shirt and commemorative tasting cup. Advance pricing is $85 per person or $100 the day of the event.
For those looking to extend the fun, tent camping will be available by the Graham Cabin near festival grounds. For $20 per site, campers can enjoy ‘Picking on the Porch’ until 10p.m. and a community campfire until 11p.m. Spots are limited, to reserve call 803-547-1010.

The Fiddle ‘n Pig Shindig is among the Greenway’s signature events, inviting the public to celebrate the season, the outdoors and the greater community. Just minutes south of Charlotte, the Greenway is a 2,100-acre natural preserve that offers hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking and more, and welcomed over 281,000 visitors in 2017.
