The Greenway Stables is a family-friendly working horse farm, owned and operated by the Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Situated on over 2,100 acres featuring 12 miles of equestrian trails, the Greenway Stables is a true area treasure. From September - May, choose from guided trail rides, private and group riding lessons, lead line horse rides and more.

The Anne Springs Close Greenway Adopt-a-Horse program is designed to allow equine lovers a chance to adopt a horse for three hours one day each week during the period of September through May. Riders must meet several criteria for the adoption program and demonstrate their riding abilities prior to being allowed entrance into the program.
Program Qualifications:
- Riders must have been on at least three guided trail rides
- Riders must have taken at least one private riding lesson to demonstrate their riding ability
- Riders must know how to groom, bridle and saddle a horse
- Riders must be familiar with the Greenway horse trail system
- Riders under the age of 18 must ride with an approved adult or ride only in the ring (when available) with approved adult supervision.
- Program participant MUST be a Greenway member
- Weight Limit per rider is 250lbs

Greenway Equestrian Day Camps
Weeklong equestrian day camps on the Greenway are offered during the month of June and offer a variety of riding disciplines for riders of various skill levels. Campers will work on riding skills, trail work and equestrian arts and crafts projects. Campers will also perform their newly acquired skills for family and friends on Fridays.
Camps are held:
Monday-Wednesday 8:00am – 1:00pm
Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm
Friday 8:00 am – 12:00pm
For kids ages 8-14
Camp activities include:
- Grooming, feeding and care of horses
- Riding instruction and techniques for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders
- Recreational riding and games
- Graduation demonstrations for family and friends
Springmaid Mountain Horse Camps
Weeklong residence camps are held at Springmaid Mountain in Spruce Pine, NC, in July. Campers are immersed in a week of activities dedicated to developing better riding techniques and improving their overall understanding of horsemanship. A week of horse camp at Springmaid Mountain is a week of riding and fun!

Horse boarding is offered at the barn on Highway 160 and in pastures around the property, which are soil tested annually, fertilized and seeded as required. The Greenway grows and stores its own hay.
Pasture Boarding at the Horse Barn ($415 per month):
- Horses are fed grain twice daily
- Run-in shelter

- Use of the outdoor and indoor riding rings when available

Group Lessons teach riders about horse care and horsemanship, including how to groom, bridle, saddle and basic riding techniques in an eight-week lesson program. They are offered as a eight-week package throughout the Spring & Fall.

They will include both English and Western riding disciplines and are offered as month long packages or individual sessions.
The lessons will be taught by one of the Horse Barn instructors at a cost of $60 per one-hour lesson with a $10 discount for Greenway members.

Trailering in your own horse to go day riding is available on the Anne Springs Close Greenway during normal hours of operation (7:00am to sunset), Monday-Thursday to the members and the general public and Friday - Sunday to members only.
Greenway members or daily visitors who are trailering in their horses for a day ride need to enter at the Lake Haigler Entrance, 2573 Lake Haigler Drive, Fort Mill. They will need to bring a copy of their horse’s current Coggins Test.
Visitors will need to pay the day ride and entrance fee of $15 per rider/horse. The gates are unlocked by 7:00-7:30 a.m. (seasonally) and locked at sunset. Riders should check the website and/or call the trail hotline at 803.547.1019 to make sure the horse trails are open prior to arrival.
Trail rides for January are currently full.
Guided trail rides are led by a member of the equestrian staff and are available on Saturdays, September to May, from 9:00am-10:30am and from 11:00am-12:00pm. Please note afternoon rides are limited to six riders.
Riders must be at least 8 years of age.** All riders must wear closed-toe shoes. We recommend riders wear long pants. All riders must wear helmets and the Anne Springs Close Greenway provides helmets. Riders should arrive 15-minutes prior to the trail ride.

Come meet your local horse community on the Greenway! Join us at our Spring and Fall Horse Shows. The public is welcome to ride or simply watch the entertaining equestrian classes. Open to riders of all skill levels, with over 40 competitive classes. Food vendors available for purchase. High Point awarded to English, Western, Walking Horse and Game classes.

Lead Line Party ($375)
Ages 3-8
This party bundle is designed for children ages 3-8. Celebrate with two hours of lead line horse rides, craft time, and a visit to see miniature horses, goats, and Rosie the pig!

This party bundle is designed for participants 8 years and older. Celebrate with a one hour trail ride followed by one hour access of the covered hanger for cake, food, presents, games and much more.

Lead line rides, led by a parent or adult, are available for children 8 and under on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:30-4:30pm during the month of September - May at the Greenway Stables, 1046 Horse Road. Helmets are required and we do provide them. Closed-toed shoes required. Pants recommended. Signed waivers are required.
Lead Lines are $15/15 minute ride with $5 discount for members. Parent or adult must lead.
