Horsemanship lessons will replace no more than two riding lessons within a session. If you miss a group or beginner private ride within the 8-week session, unfortunately, we are not able to provide make-up lessons. If you miss an intermediate/advanced private or semi-private lesson, and give at least a 48-hour notice via email, we will do our best to offer a make up lesson.
Guided trail rides are led by a member of the equestrian staff and are available on Saturdays, August to May, from 9:30am-10:30am and 11am-noon.
Riders must be at least 8 years of age. Riders ages 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
All riders must wear closed-toe shoes. We recommend riders wear long pants. All riders must wear helmets and the Anne Springs Close Greenway℠ provides helmets. Riders should arrive 30-minutes prior to the trail ride. Weight limit per rider is 250 lbs; only one rider is permitted per horse.

Exceptional Equestrians is a recreational riding program for area children and adults living with special needs. This is a closed program; however, we are in need of volunteers. To volunteer with Exceptional Equestrians, please email our Volunteer Coordinator.
Founded by Anne Springs Close in the late 1970s, Exceptional Equestrians is a partnership between Anne Springs Close Greenway℠, Rock Hill Parks, Recreation & Tourism and Fort Mill School District to provide therapeutic equine services for the local community. Heavily supported by volunteers, the Exceptional Equestrian program is a six-week program offered multiple times during the week in both the fall and spring. Participants may register through Fort Mill School District or Rock Hill Parks, Recreation & Tourism. The Greenway℠ does not handle program registration.
Horse boarding is offered at the barn in pastures around the property, which are soil tested annually, fertilized and seeded as required. The Greenway℠ grows and stores its own hay.
Pasture Boarding at the Dairy Barn ($74 per week)
- Winter hay
- Annual Greenway membership and access to trail system included
- Use of the outdoor riding rings when available
