Trail Rating: Intermediate to Advanced
Access mountain biking trails from the Adventure Road Entrance (104 Adventure Road) and the Complex Trailhead (971 Tom Hall Street). All biking trails are identified on the trail map and trail rules apply. Mountain bikers must either be members of the Anne Springs Close Greenway or pay the daily use fee of $5 at the trailhead kiosk.
Greenway bike trails are mostly beginner-friendly in nature and are suited for both new and experienced mountain bikers. Mountain bikes are recommended, however, hybrid bikes and children's bikes (without training wheels) can navigate some of the trails. There are NO paved trails for biking. Some trail loops are one direction: please look for brown signs with directional arrows, and be aware of hikers and runners on the trail. Be aware of oncoming cyclists on two-way traffic trails, and stay in control of your bike at all times. Cyclists use trails at their own risk. Helmets are strongly recommended. Anne Springs Close Greenway accepts no responsibility for damage to, loss, or theft of bikes or biking equipment.
Bike wash stations and a hydration station are available adjacent to the Adventure Road Entrance parking lot.
Visit the Greenway homepage for information on trail conditions and closings during inclement weather.

Mountain Bike Programs
The Anne Springs Close Greenway offers mountain biking instruction through PMBIA certified instructors, including Level 1 and Level 2 Clinics throughout the season, plus summer camps and otherspecial programs, including Race Clinics and Night Rides. The mountain bikeseason typically begins in March and continues through fall. You may find scheduled programs on the Calendar of Events, Anne Springs Close Greenway Mountain Biking Facebook page, or by clicking Register, then search by "bike" in the description field.
Mountain Bike Clinics
This 4 hour course led by a certified MTB instructor utilizes the proven skill-based instruction by PMBIA. All levels of riders benefit from learning and mastering essential skills. Initial instruction takes place on grassy fields and gravel roads, so even very new beginners will be comfortable. Even frequent riders often discover a missing basic skill is hampering their progress in handling more difficult terrain. The program covers body positioning, braking, gearing, and progresses to skills for navigating narrow trails and managing obstacles. Additional skills covered may include climbing and descending, cornering, wheel lifts. Very small group size allows for individual attention and mastery of skills. This course will give you plenty of preparation for riding the Greenway as well as other local trails. See Anne Springs Close Greenway Mountain Biking Facebook Group page for additional updates and information.
If you've been riding mountain bikes for more than 5 months or have completed the Level 1 program, you are ready to increase your skills (and speed!) This program will build on the essential skills and help you solve challenges. Additional focus on obstacles and cornering will improve your enjoyment of mountain biking!!
Cost: $50 members, $55 non-members. Groups size is limited to 5 participants. You need your own bike, helmet and water. A small snack will be provided. For questions, please contact instructor at [email protected].
