This is a four-week class; meets 1.5 hours a week. Students are required to provide their own digital camera.  All ages welcomed and no prior experience is required to attend this class.

Intermediate Photography


This class is for those who have been out shooting for some time but want to take their photography to the next level.

Home School Swimming


Fridays, January 19 – March 23

Level 1:  Beginners. 1:00pm
Level 2:  Advance Beginners/Intermediate. 1:30pm
Level 3: Swim Conditioning. 2:00pm

Levels 1 & 2 are 30 minute lessons with 12 sessions

Level 3 is a 45 minute swim conditioning lesson with 12 sessions; must be able to swim length of pool freestyle & backstroke.

Engineering for Kids
Electronic Game Design:
Racing Games-Kooky Carts


A go-kart built from leftover toys in a playroom, racing around a track of building blocks?!  Only in Electronic Game Design: Racing Games-Kooky Karts!  We will use the Engineering Design Process to create a storyboard to capture our awesome designs and the rules of play to our game.  Then, we will use Clickteam Fusion 2.5® to bring our storyboard to life with programming.  At the end of the unit, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game (Clickteam Fusion 2.5® does not support Mac or Android operating systems).

Engineering for Kids

Jr. Environmental: Thinking Green


Are you ready to get down and dirty searching for solutions to some of our biggest environmental problems?  In Jr. Environmental, students ponder some truly “hot” environmental issues.  Students in the program save endangered animals, help plants grow and create protection from the sun’s heat.  By investigating natural process like erosion, animal adaptions, and plant growth; we discover ways that we as engineers can be inspired by the world around us to take on all sorts of challenges.

Babysitting Certification

The Child and Babysitting Safety training program is designed to focus on supervising, caring for, and keeping children and infants safe in babysitting settings. The program provides fundamental information in the business of babysitting, proper supervision, basic caregiving skills, and responding properly to ill or injured children or infants.

Ages: 11-15

Lifeguard Training

April 14-May 26, 9am - 2pm (Every Saturday)

Fee: $250 (Members receive a $50 discount)

This course prepares candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and other incidents. Participants also learn about the Automated External Defibrillator (AED).  The class is limited to 10 participants. Books and pocket mask will be provided.

Equipment Needed:  One-piece swim suit, towel, and a good pair of goggles for each practice.  Please bring some form of media device; tablet, iPad, etc. 

Certifications Received: Lifeguard Training (2 years), First Aid (2 years), CPR for The Professional Rescuer (2 years), and Automated External Defibrillator – AED (2 years).

Prerequisite:  Minimum age of 15 by last day of class (proof of age must be brought to the first class).   Must be able to swim 300 yards; Tread water using legs only; and retrieve a 10lb brick from a distance of 20yds and 8ft deep.

Training Session:  Lifeguards will swim and practice rescues every Saturday.  Discussion and class work will take place afterwards.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What age does the participant have to be for this program?  Must be age 15 by completion of class to receive American Red Cross Certification.

How well do participants have to swim? Participants must be able to swim freestyle and breaststroke proficiently.  Participants must be in good shape.  The prerequisite is mandatory for continuing the class.  All Rescues, CPR, First Aid, and AED will be taught by the instructor.
